1. DROP OFF AND PICK UP PROCEDURES:
- When dropping off or picking up, please keep the noise level to a minimum - this is a learning environment.
- Please pull all the way over to the shoulder when dropping students off or picking students up. It is not safe for students to be dropped off or picked up from a driving lane in the middle of traffic. Please DO NOT block the driveway!
- Students 8th grade and above may be dropped off at the Homework Hub sign positioned in front of the lot on Rt. 110. This sign is not to discourage anyone from parking in the lot. Rather, it is to reserve the spot specifically for student drop offs. Please do not park in the designated drop off spot!
- You are welcome to park in the lot if you and your child will be coming into the HwH office or if you are dropping a student off in Grades 7 or under. It is a tight lot and while all are allowed to park there, we feel that it is most important for use by our younger students. Please be careful when entering and exiting this lot!
- For our High School drivers (as well as others), the safest place to park is on the shoulder of Rt 110, on a side street, or in the parking lot behind the Minuteman and AT&T. This will be easier for new drivers as it can be tricky seeing around parked vehicles when entering and exiting the HwH parking lot.
- When picking up your students, especially from review classes, anticipate a lineup of cars. Please pull to the back of the line or park in one of the places suggested above. Remember to pull over to the shoulder for safety.
- We request that you pay extra attention when driving near Homework Hub as the safety of our students is always top priority.
2. HOMEWORK HUB CALENDAR:
- The Homework Hub calendar follows the Half Hollow Hills School District.
- Under any other circumstances, we will notify clients via email in regards to calendar changes.
3. HOMEWORK HUB CODE OF CONDUCT
- If a student's behavior is deemed unsafe or disruptive to other students, the child will be removed from the session and a parent will be called (there will be no refunds).
- Cell phone use is not permitted during sessions unless being used in an educational manner.
4. HOMEWORK HUB COVID-19 GUIDELINES
SOCIAL DISTANCING AND FACE COVERINGS:
- Social distancing (of at least 6 ft. or a physical barrier) shall be maintained between individuals while in HwH facilities unless safety requires a shorter distance or individuals are of the same household.
- Classes will be limited to no more than three students and one adult, except for “Learning Pod” classes, which will be limited to no more than eight students and one adult.
- All students and staff must wear acceptable face coverings while inside the HwH facilities. Cloth-based face coverings and surgical masks that cover both the mouth and nose are acceptable face coverings for COVID-19.
- Face coverings shall be provided to HwH staff; and shall also be provided to any student who does not have their own, at no cost to the student.
- Sharing of food and beverages is prohibited, unless individuals are members of the same household.
HYGIENE, CLEANING, AND DISINFECTION:
- Hand hygiene stations, including hand-washing with soap, running warm water, and disposable paper towels, as well as an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing 60% or more alcohol, will be made available in HwH’s office.
- Staff will be required to wash hands for at least 20 seconds regularly, and before coming into contact with any student.
- Classrooms, including desks and tables, will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected after each session.
- Bathrooms will be cleaned and disinfected regularly.
- All classrooms, as well as the lobby, will contain air purifiers with true HEPA filters.
SCREENING AND TRACKING:
- Staff are required to complete a screening questionnaire on each day they work to determine if the individual has: a) Knowingly been in close or proximate contact in the past 14 days with anyone who has tested positive through a diagnostic test for COVID-19 or who has or had symptoms of COVID-19; b) Tested positive through a diagnostic test for COVID-19 in the past 14 days; c) Has experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, including a temperature of greater than 100.0°F, in the past 14 days; and/or d) Has traveled internationally or from a state with widespread community transmission of COVID-19 per the New York State Travel Advisory in the past 14 days.
- Parents will be required to complete the same questionnaire on behalf of their child(ren).
- Students and staff will have their temperature checked before entering HwH’s office.
- Any individual who exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, or who presents with a temperature greater than 100.0°F, shall not be allowed to enter the HwH office, and will be immediately sent home with instructions to contact their health care provider for assessment and testing.
- Any student or staff member who develops COVID-19 symptoms while at HwH’s office shall be immediately separated from others until they can go home or to a health care facility, depending on severity of illness. Symptomatic students waiting to be picked up will remain under the visual supervision of a staff member who is physically distanced.
- Upon being informed of any positive COVID-19 diagnostic test result by an individual who has been inside HwH’s office within the prior seven (7) days, including students, staff, and visitors, HwH will immediately notify the state and local health department, and support the local health department in tracing all contacts of the individual, in accordance with the protocols, training, and tools provided through the New York State Contact Tracing Program. Confidentiality must be maintained as required by federal and state law and regulations.
- In the event a positive COVID-19 case is discovered, and the sick individual was in HwH’s office within the prior seven (7) days, HwH will follow applicable CDC guidelines, including, but not limited to, closing off the area(s) used by the person who was sick, and, after 24 hours, cleaning and disinfecting all areas used by the sick individual, including classrooms, bathrooms, common areas and shared electronic equipment, such as tablets and keyboards.
- Any individual who has screened positive for COVID-19 symptoms will be permitted back into HwH’s office upon providing, at a minimum, documentation from a health care provider evaluation, negative COVID-19 testing, and symptom resolution, or if COVID-19 positive, release from isolation.
