Spanish / French
Bonjour! Hola! My name is David Strauzer. I taught French and Spanish for 33 years in the New York City Public Schools as well as in several districts in Nassau County. I taught French and Spanish grades 6-12, ENL, as well as College French to Seniors through the St. John's University College Advantage Program. I also had the wonderful opportunity to teach FLES Spanish to fourth and fifth graders in my last year of teaching!! In addition, I was an Assistant Principal at a High School in Nassau County from 1997-1999 and was the Principal of Freeport Summer High School from 1995-1997.
I've always had a passion for and a facility with French and Spanish ever since grade school. I was fortunate enough to begin my studies of French in third grade at my outstanding NYC Public Elementary School. I didn't begin my studies of Spanish until tenth grade. As a high school student, I was accepted into Middlebury College's prestigious École Française six week summer immersion program. I was also fortunate enough to have studied abroad in Madrid Spain during the Spring 1984 Semester.
After a wonderful teaching career of 33 years, I retired in June 2019. In my spare time, I enjoy tutoring students. I look forward to meeting and working with many students through Homework Hub.
