HOMEWORK HUB PRESENTS:

ESSENTIAL COLLEGE APPLICATION WORKSHOP

Our 3.5 hour, max: 6:1 student-to-teacher workshop is designed for students who need the motivation to jumpstart the college application process. This Workshop will focus students on the essential tasks they need to complete before submitting their college applications. 

What’s included:

During the Workshop, students will work through the Activities and Academic Honors sections of the Common App and load their colleges onto the Common Application.  Students will learn about writing the Common App essay (personal statement) and will be instructed on a general approach for drafting supplemental essays.  Our work does not end with the actual Workshop. Instead, we will continue working with you to complete your Common App essay and to make sure that your Activities and Honors are well represented on the Common App.

Cost: 

$599/student                           

The workshop includes:

• 3.5 hour Workshop
• Proofreading/editing the Activities and Academic Honors sections of the Common Application (student must email preview of those sections to Linda Kern after student has entered all information); phone consultations as necessary to complete the task
• Edited Common App essay; student will email drafts to Linda Kern, who will proofread and edit until completion; phone consultations as necessary to complete the task.

Before and after the workshop:

Students will have pre-Workshop assignments, and will continue to work with College Essays That Work following the Workshop in order to complete two key components of the Common Application--the essay and the activities section.

ALL WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED TO LINDA KERN on or before December 1, 2016 or additional charges will apply.

Each session runs for 3 hours with a 45-minute break in the middle for lunch or dinner. The cost of the workshop includes our advisor's time outside of the sessions. 

Space is limited to ensure personal attention. Fees are non-refundable but in the event a student must cancel, fees may be applied to hourly consultations at the rate of $160/hour. We reserve the right to cancel any session and offer rescheduled dates if fewer than 2 students enroll.
